BistrotVenezia

Our story

Twenty years and more
around the same table.

A family-run neighbourhood Italian restaurant, open since June 2003, a short walk from La Défense.

La salle du Bistrot Venezia : tables dressées, corniche dorée et peintures de Venise sur les murs de pierre.

01The beginning

June 2003, rue Godefroy

Bistrot Venezia opened in the middle of Puteaux, a few streets from La Défense. A neighbourhood restaurant in the literal sense: you run into your neighbours, you celebrate things, you come back without planning to.

Twenty years on, the same family still runs it. That is probably what has changed the least.

02The room

A room with a memory

The cornice is a hundred years old. The two large canvases of Venice took an Italian painter three months. The marble is painted: a trompe-l’œil that still fools half the tables.

Add a few Venetian masks, brass wall lights and two air-conditioned rooms, and that is the decor. No studio designed it — it settled in over the years.

03The kitchen

Cooking, without detours

Thin-crust pizza stretched by hand and baked to order. Filled pasta made in-house. Veal escalopes in thirteen different sauces, fish, and large salads.

Nothing intimidating, nothing fixed: everyday Italian cooking, meant to be shared in the middle of the table.

You don’t come to the Venezia to be impressed.
You come to be looked after.
